On the South Square is a life-sized bronze statue of the village's most famous celebrity - Steve 'Crusher' Casey, who dominated world heavyweight wrestling for over a decade in the 1930's and 40's. Such was Caseys reputation that he found it difficult to find other European wrestlers who would challenge him.
